Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, no jargon

Most business owners ask the same things on the first call. We have put the answers here so you can read them in your own time, including the ones that are not flattering to us.

Nothing matches that. Try a different word, or just ask us on the call and we will answer it properly.

General

The basics: what this is, who it is for, and how it fits with what you already have.

What does Agile Eight actually do?

We build you a website, and then we make the things happen that a website on its own cannot: a missed call gets a text back, every message lands in one place, quotes get followed up, reviews get asked for, and appointments get booked without the back-and-forth. It runs whether or not you remember to do it. Which of these you get depends on the package, and the pricing page sets out exactly what is in each one.

Is this for big companies or small businesses?

Small ones. Sole traders, trades, salons, clinics, garages, consultants. The kind of business where the person answering the phone is also the person doing the work, which is exactly why calls get missed.

How is this different from just getting a website built?

A website sits there until somebody visits it. Most of what we set up happens when nobody is on the site at all. If a good-looking website is genuinely all you need, there are cheaper ways to get one and we will tell you so on the call.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. We build and configure it for you, and most of it is designed to run without you touching it. If you can send a text message, you already have the skills you need.

Do you only work with businesses near Coventry?

That is where most of our clients are, and being local helps for the first conversation. It is not a requirement. The work itself does not depend on us being round the corner.

Pricing and billing

What it costs, what it does not include, and how to stop.

How much does it cost?

Three packages: £35, £75 and £99 a month, or pay annually for two months free and no setup fee. Monthly billing carries a one-off setup fee, since it can be cancelled after the first month. The pricing page sets out exactly what is in each one.

Is there a setup fee?

Only if you pay monthly. There is a significant amount of setup behind every package. Annual billing covers that cost upfront, so no setup fee applies. Monthly billing does not, and a monthly subscription can be cancelled after the first month, so a one-off setup fee applies there: £179 on Get Online, £249 on Get Organised, £399 on Get Growing.

Is there a long contract?

No. Packages run month to month. If it is not working for you, tell us and we will stop at the end of the month.

What do calls, texts and emails cost?

They are charged on what you actually use rather than as a bundle you might not need. Texts and emails typically come to around £8 a month for 500 texts and 5,000 emails, though a Get Online site sending only missed-call texts lands well under that, and a Get Organised or Get Growing account running follow-ups, review requests and the CRM inbox may go over it.

Calls are billed by the minute, and the business number itself has a small monthly rental. Worth knowing: if you have calls forwarded to your mobile, the forwarded leg is charged as well as the incoming one. For most small businesses this is a few pounds a month, but it depends entirely on how much you are on the phone.

UK numbers only, and we will show you the current rates before you start rather than after the first bill.

Can I change package later?

Yes, in either direction. Plenty of businesses start on Get Online, add booking once the diary fills up, and only look at a shop when there is something worth selling. Changes take effect from your next payment.

What is not included in the price?

Your domain renewal, call, text and email usage, WhatsApp if you choose to use it, any advertising budget, and card processing fees if you are selling online. WhatsApp needs Get Organised or above, since it runs through the CRM inbox. All of it is listed on the pricing page rather than buried here.

Set-up

What happens between saying yes and it being live.

How long does it take to go live?

We agree a date on the first call and work to it. Most of the work is ours rather than yours, so the thing that usually sets the pace is how quickly we get your services, prices and logo.

What do you need from me?

What you do, what you charge, the areas you cover, your logo if you have one, and access to your existing Google listing. One good conversation usually covers it.

Do I have to give up my current website?

Not necessarily. Some of what we do can sit alongside a site you already like. If your current site is doing its job, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether replacing it is worth it.

Will my existing phone number still work?

Yes. You keep your number. Missed-call text-back needs either a UK mobile or a landline you are happy to have calls forwarded from, and we set that up with you.

Who writes the words on the site?

We do, from what you tell us, and then you change anything that does not sound like you. Nobody knows how you describe your work better than you do.

Features

How the main pieces actually work. There is more detail under what we do.

How does missed-call text-back work?

If a call comes in and you cannot take it, a text goes out within 30 seconds asking what they need. The conversation carries on in writing, so you can answer between jobs instead of losing them to whoever picks up first.

What's the benefit of a targeted landing page?

Point an advert at your homepage and you have asked the visitor to work out where to go next. Most will not bother. A targeted landing page asks for exactly one thing: book the survey, claim the winter service, get the quote, and everything on the page points at that single action.

Because each campaign gets its own page, you can finally tell which one actually produced work, not clicks. It is included on every package, including Get Online.

What is the CRM inbox?

Included on Get Organised and above. One inbox that pulls in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, email and texts, with every message from the same customer in a single thread. It also stores your customers, their jobs and their history, and we can add custom fields for whatever your trade needs to remember.

Does it work with WhatsApp?

Yes, on Get Organised and above, since WhatsApp comes in through the CRM inbox. It is also worth knowing what it costs before you switch it on. WhatsApp needs a Business Account approved by Meta. We do that setup for free, and the approval itself is Meta's to give rather than ours.

WhatsApp is then billed on top of your package: a monthly fee to keep the connection open, plus a charge for each marketing message you send. Replying to a customer within 24 hours of them contacting you costs nothing, which covers most normal back-and-forth. We will show you the current rates before you decide, because they change and they vary by country.

Plenty of businesses run happily on texts and email and never turn WhatsApp on. It is there if your customers already message you that way.

Can customers book themselves in?

Yes, on Get Organised and above. They see your real availability, pick a slot, and it lands in your calendar with confirmations and reminders sent automatically.

Does it ask for reviews automatically?

Yes, on Get Organised and above. A request goes out after the job while the customer is still pleased, with a link that takes a couple of taps. Most people would leave a review if asked; the asking is the part that gets forgotten.

Can I sell things online?

Yes, on Get Growing. A shop, gift cards and digital loyalty cards, plus QR codes for the van, the counter or an invoice. Gift cards tend to be the interesting one: money now, and a new customer introduced by someone who already trusts you.

Is there an app?

Yes, on Get Organised and above. A business app for Android and iPhone, so you are not tied to a laptop to run the day-to-day. It covers three things: insights and productivity, so you can see how the business is doing at a glance; sales and operations, so bookings, jobs and the CRM inbox travel with you; and marketing and growth, so a review request or a social post does not have to wait until you are back at a desk.

Your data

Who owns what, and what happens if you leave.

Who owns my customer data?

You do. Your customers are your customers. We hold and process the data on your behalf so the system can work, and you can ask for it back at any time.

Who owns my domain and Google listing?

You do, and they stay in your name throughout. We will set them up properly and look after them, but the accounts are yours.

What happens if I leave?

Your domain, your Google listing and your customer list are yours, and we will export the list for you. The website and the automations run on our platform, so they stop when the package stops. We would rather say that plainly now than have it be a surprise later.

Will you market to my customers?

No. Never. Your contacts are used to run your business, not ours. We do not sell, share or borrow your customer list.

Still got a question we have not answered?

Ask it on the free call. We would rather tell you it is not a fit than sell you the wrong thing.
