What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are genuinely useful, such as remembering you are logged in. Many exist to follow you between websites so you can be advertised to. We use neither.

What this website does instead

The pages are plain files. There is no login, no basket and no personalisation, so there is nothing that needs remembering between visits. That is why there is no banner asking you to accept anything: under the rules, consent is needed for tracking, and there is none here to consent to.

Specifically, we do not use:

• Google Analytics or any other analytics package
• advertising or remarketing pixels from any network
• social media tracking buttons
• session recording or heatmap tools
• fonts loaded from someone else's server, which would reveal your address to them

The one thing that does run

The bot check on the contact form

When you submit the contact form, a check from Cloudflare confirms you are a person rather than an automated script. Without it the form would be filled in by spam software within days.

The check looks at your browser and network address to make that decision, and it may briefly store a token in your browser to remember that you passed. It is used for that and nothing else: it does not build a profile of you, and it does not follow you to other websites. We chose this particular check because it is designed not to track people.

It only loads on pages with a contact form. If you never submit the form, it never runs a check on you.

What we would tell you if this changed

If we ever add analytics or anything that stores information on your device, we will update this page, and anything that needs your permission will ask for it first rather than assuming. We would rather keep the site as it is.

How to check for yourself

You do not have to take our word for it. In most browsers you can open developer tools, look under the storage or application tab, and see the cookies a site has set. On this one you will find none.
